The Railway Ministry has approved a plan to develop 76 passenger holding areas at various railway stations in the country. The plan includes three stations of Northern Railway, Lucknow Division, including Charbagh (Lucknow), Ayodhya Dham, and Varanasi.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, Lucknow, Kuldeep Tiwari said here on Thursday that these holding areas will effectively manage the heavy rush at stations during Diwali, Chhath, and other special occasions.

Keeping passenger convenience in mind, these holding areas will be constructed using a modular design, taking into account the local conditions and needs of each station, he said.
